Dr. Alyse Tibbs- Meet the Doctor Series

We're excited to have Dr. J. Alyse Allen-Tibbs on our Carthage, TX team! Dr. Tibbs has resided in the East Texas area for the majority of her life. She participated in the dual-credit program at Carthage High School, graduating with the Class of 2006 and 15 college credit hours already in hand. Go Bulldogs!
Education & Training
Dr. Tibbs earned an Associate of Science degree in 2009 from Panola College, then attended Stephen F. Austin University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2011. She went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2018.
Specialties & Approach to Care
As a Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist, Dr. Tibbs takes time with each patient to ensure their needs are met and the best possible care is provided. Her areas of focus include foreign body removal, myopia control, and specialty contact lenses, along with management of ocular conditions such as dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration.
Life Outside the Practice
Dr. Tibbs, her husband Michael, and their two daughters, Avery and Elizabeth, love to travel, with two must-haves on every trip: an educational stop, like a museum, historical landmark, or monument, and water, whether that's a beach, waterpark, or the lake. Her family is also heavily involved in ministry at their local church.
